Pumpkins 2009

Here are some pictures I took of the girls and us carving pumpkins this year. Halloween is truly one of my favorite holidays. Such good memories.
One of them is as kids, we would read poems/stories from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. One of the favorites we had was "Don't You Ever Laugh As A Hearse Goes By". I used to know this one by heart because we'd read it so much. Here is a copy of the poem I found... Oh the memories. I think when my girls get a little older, I will be buying this book for them to read from.
This is for you Kassie Jo...

Don’t You Ever Laugh As A Hearse Goes By,
For You May Be The Next To Die.
They Wrap You Up In A Big White Sheet,
From Your Head Down To Your Feet.
They Put You In A Big Black Box,
Cover You Up With Dirt And Rocks.
All Goes Well For About A Week,
Then Your Coffin Begins To Leak.
The Worms Crawl In The Worms Crawl Out,
The Worms Play Pinochle On Your Snout.
They Eat Your Eyes They Eat Your Nose,
hey Eat The Jelly Between Your Toes.
A Big Green Worm With Rolling Eyes,
Crawls In Your Stomach And Out Your Eyes.
Your Stomach Turns A Slimy Green,
And Pus Pours Out Like Whipping Cream.
You Spread It On A Slice Of Bread,
And That’s What You Eat When Your Dead.
