Happy Birthday Jade

My cousin's daughter, Jade, turned 7 this past weekend. Her mom, Kassie Jo, hired a girl who plays "Giselle" from Enchanted to come and entertain the girls. She did a really good job. She held the girls attention for at least an hour. She sang songs with them, danced, taught them princess etiquette. It was really fun to watch them all interact together. Here are some of the pictures from the day's events.

The Nie Nie Dialogues

I am an avid listener to Radio from Hell, on X96 http://www.x96.com/main/index in the mornings. One feature that I love, is their Ask - A feature. Each Thursday morning, they interview a different person. They've had Ask - A Gay, Ask - A Mason, Ask - A Meth Addict, and most recently Ask - A Roller Derby Girl, and so on and so forth.

Last week, they featured Ask - A Burn Victim. For anyone who is not familiar with Radio From Hello or this feature, please don't get me wrong, this is a serious feature. And, while they have had their assortment of odd interviews, this one really struck me.

They interviewed Christian Nielson, He and his wife, Stephanie Nielson, were injured when their private plane went down Aug. 16 in St. Johns, Ariz., while on their way home to Mesa. Christian, the pilot, was burned on 35 percent of his body, and Stephanie on 83 percent of hers. They were taken to the Arizona Burn Center in Phoenix.

The post below is a link to their blog. It has touched me deeply and I wanted to share it with all of you.

You can also go this link on the X96 website and read over some of the articles about the family's triumphs.

Because Nicole whined... :)

I have been MIA for sometime, between Christmas, Megan Jo's birthday and whatever else has been in the works over the past month... I have not been posting. This little fact was brought to my attention, to my dear friend Nicole.

Every few months, a few good friends and I (former co-workers from my credit union days) go to dinner and catch up on each other's lives, gossip and just have a nice evening. This has been an on - going tradition for the past six years or so. Last night, we went to Texas Roadhouse. My friend Nicole announced that my blog sucked because I had not updated anything since Christmas. She is right, I have been slacking.

Nothing really too exciting has been happening. Christmas was good, Megan had a good 4th birthday and New Year's was pretty uneventful.

I am rambling on and on, I know that. The pictures that I am posting are also very random in nature, but to appease Nicole (haha), I thought I'd better post something. :)

This past weekend, my cousin's daughter, Jade, had a sleepover. The girls also got their hair cut and styled with Kacy Jo, our favorite stylist. Here are some of those pictures...

PS These pictures were taken with my camera phone, so they are not the greatest.

This is one of those "random photos" I was talking about. JD, Dan and Jason enjoying a beer at Angelo's... notice Recher's babyface.

This was taken of little Noah, notice his sly attemps of sneaking up on the cute little girl. Must be a boy afterall...

Megan was doing my hair tonight, with copious amounts of hair clips. Lucky me. :)
So, to end my random ramblings... Here you are Nicole. :) Love you!

Pesky Long - Arms

Pesky Long -Arms - This was a name Dan's dad came up for Megan when she was little, because she was always getting into things when he babysat her.
Megan Jo, our baby, turned 4 today. So, as I sit here tonight and think how quickly my girls are growing up, I got to reminiscing and looking through some of Megan's baby pictures. I found some of my favorites and wanted to post them.
It is sad to think how fast our children grow up, but part of the fun of being a parent, for me any ways to watch them learn and grow, to see them grow into little people of their own.
I can't imagine my life with out my daughters and my family and am so blessed to have them.

From barely weighing 4 pounds at birth to being a larger - than life 4 year old today, happy birthday Pesky Long-Arms!! We love you to pieces.

Happy 4th Birthday Megan Jo!!

Happy Birthday Megan Jo!
