A new page...

So, I haven't scrapped a page since we moved to the new house just over 3 weeks ago. I thought it was time. These pictures were taken of the girls on Father's Day at Dan's parents house. His mom and dad have a really nice, green backyard. Since, we don't have a yard just yet... I love any yard that has anything in it besides rocks, dirt and weeds.

Missing Our Floyd ~

Since we have moved, we had to let my brother - in law, Jeff, take Floyd. We jokingly call Floyd our "step - dog". He stays with Jeff during the fall/winter months for hunting season and us during the rest of the year, a regular 6-month split. :)

Since we still have a yard to develop and are without a fence, we had to send Floyd off to Corrine to Jeff's house. The girls sure miss him. You couldn't ask for a friendlier, more loving lab. And yes, even though he is a little crazy, we still love him.

Megan has a really special fondness for him. She tells Dan and I all the time how much she misses him. It is really sweet.

We hope to have the yard and fencing in soon, but maybe not this year. So, for the time being, our sweet little Lab will be with his step-dad. haha

Father's Day 2008

For Father's Day, we had a family dinner with the Strongs. Here are some pictures of the girls playing in the back yard. Richard and Nancy have a large back yard with a creek running through it. The kids couldn't love it more...

It was a nice afternoon. We ate dinner, ate more dinner, then had dessert, the had some more dessert and enjoyed family.

BiG bIkE rIdEr!!

Earlier this week, we finally got the chance to take the training wheels of Ashley's bike. We weren't able to do it at the old house because the busy corner, the traffic and the crazy a$$ drivers.

Now that we are in a nice quiet neighborhood, we can let the kids go out front and play in the driveway or the sidewalk without fear of them being hit by a car.

Ashley did really good on her first attempt at riding a two wheeler. She was up and going on her own within the few first few attempts. It was so fun to watch. She got really excited!

We told her she needs lots of practice to get really good at riding her bike. She is struggling with the getting moving on her own part of it, but I have no doubts that my determined little grill will have it down in no time.

No more training wheels for me!!

Ramblings

I have been off the radar for so long, I have some catching up to do. :)

Dan has been in Idaho at the Rencher cabin this weekend, helping to take down fencing. So it's been me and the girls in the new house.

This morning we slept in and lounged in our PJ's for a while. They found their Dora the Explorer sticker book that I just unpacked. They made themselves some sticker jewelry, earrings and necklaces. It was acutally quite creative. These two little sweeties never cease to amaze me with their cuteness.

They have been playing in the back yard a lot. The yard is not done and is just dirt for right now. I wouldn't think it'd be all that fun, but they are loving it. They have been riding bikes up and down some of the hills in the un-finished lots around us, playing on their swingset and running and getting dirty as they can.

I also managed to get some pictures of the outside of the house finally. I took the inside ones last night when it was too dark. So here are the front and the back of our new home. The yard is going to hopefully be done sooner than later. We will get there and I am excited to get it all finished.

Our Craft Project

Today, the girls and I created magnet boards for their bedrooms. This way they can hang their art-work and pictures up in their own rooms for display. I stole this idea from a girlfriend of mine, thanks Nicole!!

Here are some pictures of Ashley and Megan helping me paint them in the garage this morning. It was fun. They each had their own paintbrush and they just loaded the paint up on the wood. I went back to the spots they each worked on and smoothed it back out. We had lots of fun "creating" this morning. :)

After the frames got done drying, I sanded them to look "aged". I couldn't find the electric sander in my husband's mess of a garage, so I hand sanded them. I forgot how much that makes my carpal tunnel start to hurt. Once they were sanded, we put the foam stickers on and glued on some cute embellishments. I really love how these turned out. I also made some magnets with cute papers, some flat - glass rocks, mod podge and some magnets. This was a fun project and the girls are really excited about their new boards.

We are finally moved in...

It's been over a week since we finally got moved into the new house. We have been unpacking, hanging pictures, cleaning... You name it.

I took some pictures today, please keep in mind that we are still unpacking and hanging pictures so this is not by any means the complete and final product. hehe

It is strange being in a new house, that is for sure. We were at the old hous for about 10 1/2 years. It is wierd to not be there any more. We are noticing how quiet it is not being on that crazy corner anymore. It's taking some getting used to. Dan and I both keep saying to eachother, "Do you hear that? It's so quiet!". We are so used to the crazy drivers whipping around the corner at 40 MPH.

I have driven by the old house on a few occasions to get to friends' houses or just to check in on the old place and it is so strange to someone else living there. We do still own it and are renting it out.

The kids keep making comments that they miss the old house, and in a way, I do too. Not enough to go back, but it does make me a little sad to hear them say it. We are well on our way to making the new house in Hooper our new home and getting it up and running.
